West Company is a leading provider of Survey, Engineering, and GIS services for Public and Private sector companies in West Texas. West Company Combines surveying and Civil engineering to provide a full range of services from oil field location, pipeline surveys, wind farm surveys, topographic mapping, transmission line survey services to civil engineering of master planned communities, commercial developments, industrial developments, infrastructure, master drainage, storm water management and K-12/higher education schools.
West Company’s surveying and mapping experience includes extensive ROW mapping and construction surveying for oil and gas industry clients with pipeline routes often exceeding 100 miles in length. Each year we survey and locate hundreds of oil and/or gas well locations throughout Texas and New Mexico. We have surveyed numerous acreage tracts and ranches ranging from a few acres up to several thousand acres. We have performed ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys on thousands of acres associated with numerous wind projects located in Texas. West Company has performed thousands of loan closing surveys on residential lots.
West Company’s engineering experience includes land planning and rezoning; comprehensive plans; master plans; planned districts and individual site plans; preliminary and final platting; obtaining special use permits and highway crossing permits; designing water, sewer, paving and drainage system improvements; as well as design and construction details for pipelines and electric distribution lines. Individual project tasks have included: platting rights-of-way, the geometric design and preparation of plan and profile alignment sheets, and construction specifications for arterial streets.
A history of Surveying & Engineering
West Company was established in 1980 by John West and was then called John West Engineering. We were incorporated in 2000 as West Company of Midland. In 2005 management developed a growth plan focusing on expanding its surveying and engineering services to other cities and states focusing on West Texas in the beginning. With that process in motion West Company started another office in Abilene, Texas in 2005. West Company expanded its knowledge and retrieved licenses in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, California, Kansas and Arizona.
West Company has a team of employees consisting of Professional Engineers, Engineers in Training, Registered Professional Land Surveyors, and Land Surveyors in Training possessing more than 100 years of experience in the fields of Civil Engineering, Land Planning, and Land/Pipeline/Transmission Line Surveying.
